Prayers Needed

Olga is almost 5. Brigita is almost 5. These girls are going to be institutionalized at the age of 5. These girls are just 2 out of many. These kids don't know how to how it feels to have someone who cres for you, loves you and someone who will always protect you. These kids don't even know how to be held. 85% of the kids who go to the institution die within the first year. They just about get chained to their beds. And if they are too small, because they barley get any food to survive, they pretty much get tied to their bed and then chained. how can you live knowing that? I know I can't. so help these children get a home at http://reecesrainbow.org/. Olga and Brigita are the last two beautiful girls at the top.

Our Most “At Risk” Children

Brigita #13

Brigita (# 13)
Girl, Born on February 5, 2005

This little girl has dark green eyes and dark brown hair. She is walking and a delightful girl. She also has FAS. She is considered relatively low functioning, and will need a loving family who can give her all the love and attention she has been missing!
Single moms, older parents, and large families welcome
The first trip is about 2 weeks, 2nd trip is 3-4 days, the last trip is 5-7 days
Both parents for 2 weeks for bonding time
One parent returns for 5 days to complete Embassy paperwork
Total cost, including travel approx $22,000
Stay in a furnished apartment or house with your new child for bonding
Multiple unrelated children be be adopted.

Villis All of the children on this page are between 3 and 5 years of age. They are all facing imminent institutionalization! The closer they get to the age of 4, the more dismal their hope is of being adopted at all. These are the children who do not have the "luxury" of sitting around and waiting to be chosen.

They are truly living on borrowed time.
The children in our most popular Eastern Europe program are separated below by the orphanages they are living in (the orphanage number is in paranthesis after each name). There are no family size limitations, and multiple children from the same orphanage can be adopted during the same trip for a very low cost. MARRIED COUPLES ONLY. The children are separated for the ease of new adoptive families in deciding if adopting two (or even three!) children is a good choice for them. Our youngest children in this country, ages 0-2 years, are also separated out this way. Families can choose any combination of gender or age from the same orphanage. And GRANTS CAN BE COMBINED towards the total cost of adopting more than one child. Children without a number in paranthesis are from different countries.
FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROCESS AND/OR ANY OF THE WAITING CHILDREN ON THIS PAGE, PLEASE CLICK HERE. The majority of these children posted here can also be adopted by CANADIAN FAMILIES!

PLEASE HELP US raise grant funds and awareness for these precious, waiting angels. You really can save a life, with even the smallest gift!
You are also invited to send a check (no Paypal fees) to
Reece's Rainbow, PO Box 4024, Gaithersburg, MD 20885

"Your gift will serve ALL of the children, as 10% of each waiting child donation is shared with our Voice of Hope fund as well!

Allysen #1-4

DOB: March 24, 2008

This is not the best photo, since she's falling down in the high chair, but Miss Allysen is still a cutie pie!

Allysen was born with a complete AV canal heart defect that was surgically repaired. As a result, she had a rough start to life. She has made significant progress in the past year. She is now eating from a bottle, sitting and baring weight on her feet. She has very good coordination skills (hand to hand, hand-eye, hand to mouth). She tracks objects and will reach for them. She plays with toys when they are given to her.

Allysen was a very sick little girl for the first year of her life and as a result, has not had many opportunities to really grow and develop. She is now healthy and her development is beginning to improve.

I have $10 in my grant fund towards the cost of my adoption!

Anjelina #6-12

DOB: May 25, 2005

Anjelina has Down syndrome and an interauricular cardiac malformation that is monitored by a cardiologist. In addition, she suffers from frequent urinary infections.

Anjelina can walk, run and climb! She participates in activities with other children. She plays with toys, follow simple directions and laughs at jokes. She is pronouncing combinations of sounds and syllables but it not yet using words.

A baby photo of Anjelina is also available. What a priceless gift that will be for the adoptive family!

I have $0 in my grant fund towards the cost of my adoption!

Landon #6-11

DOB: July 12, 2006
Main diagnosis: Down syndrome

Landon has had surgical treatment for GI issues and a ventral hernia. He wears glasses 2-3 hours a day.

He walks, pushes toys, runs and climbs. He actively participates in games with other children and imitates what he sees the other children do. He turns the pages in a picture book, stacks blocks and places rings on a stick (a stacking toy). He enjoys music class and will mimic the motions along with the other children.

Landon is described as "very social". He answers to his name and will come when called and follows simple verbal instructions. He is making sounds and saying syllables but is not yet using words to communicate. He prefers the contact of adults and seeks out their attention.

I have $243.9 in my grant fund towards the cost of my adoption!

Kendra #21-7

DOB: November 10, 2007

Kendra can walk steadily, climb and maneuver around obstacles. She plays with toys, bangs blocks together and manipulates toys in/out of containers. She watches the other kids closely and tries to participate in all of the activities that they are doing. Her receptive language is very good and she is beginning to communicate: says “bye-bye”, attempts to say “come” and does a gesture with it, claps for “bravo”. She loves getting on the elevator at the orphanage because she knows that means that she is going outside! She is eating from a spoon and drinking from a cup, though she is not feeding herself at this time.

I have $0 in my grant fund towards the cost of my adoption!

Vinnie #21-6

DOB: December 30, 2007

Vinnie is delayed in all areas of his development. He can roll over, sit up and walks in a walker. He responds to adult interactions, smiles and maintains eye contact. He plays briefly with toys, transfers them from hand to hand and throws them. He makes sounds and says basic syllables such as “ma-ma”. Many of his delays are likely due to a lack of opportunity! His report indicates a need for physical and speech therapy.

I have $0 in my grant fund towards the cost of my adoption!

Valenz #44-1

DOB: July 19, 2007

Valenz is delayed in all areas of his development. However, he has shown marked improvements in recent months. He can sit unassisted and pull up to his knees in an attempt to stand. He shows a general interest in toys and will hold them, moving them from hand to hand. He makes spontaneous sounds and basic syllables. He watches the other children and has begun to smile when interacted with by staff and other children. He eats thick consistency foods from a spoon, but still requires someone to help feed him. He sucks his thumb when he sleeps.

I have $0 in my grant fund towards the cost of my adoption!

Danny #45-1

Vilis

VillisVilis
Boy, Born on April 12th, 2006

Vilis is a darling little boy who has light brown hair and blue eyes. Too cute! He was born with an oval window, but this may have closed on it's own already.

From an adoptive family who visited with him recently: Vilis is just darling! He is lagging behind, but not from lack of ability, just lack of opportunity and stimulation. I visited him and spent a good bit of time engaging him, he laughed and giggled, babbled some sounds…he is definitely in there and will really blossom in a loving family!! If there was some way for me to "add him to my tab", I'd do it right now. He is just aching for encouragement and challenge and praise. He really responded well to me with to toys and other stimuli. He is able to cruise the table, and I just know he will be up and walking very quickly once he is home. I was able to share some tips and techniques with the caregivers to include him in the activities of the others, to talk to him and play with him, that he WILL respond.

Sonya (3)

Girl, Born October 26, 2005
Sonya is a beautiful 5 year old girl who needs a family quickly. She does have a heart condition, so she should see a cardiologist once home. Sonya can be adopted with any of the other children in orphanage 3, and is blessed to still be at the baby house. She is able to walk and likes to play with balls and other toys. She can be so much more!!

This orphanage has a history of medicating the children, so many of them look sleepy and zoned out in their photos. It is imperative to find families for all of these children quickly.

From one of our adoptive families who visited with her in December 2010: "Sonya was adorable and VERY smart. She was sweet and immediately crawled up to me. She and her Nanny played and sang songs. She would smile so BIG when the Nanny would rub their palms together (part of the song). She was also counting and Sonya would put down her fingers as the nanny said the numbers!! She followed directions and came when she was called. She was playing with the small stacking rings and was doing very well lining up the small holes. She would wrinkle her nose as she was trying. The nanny really seemed to dote on her. I can't imagine her being transfered and losing this play time together. When she was leaving she crawled straight up to Yuri to check him out and then crawled to her Nanny who was calling her name. We waved and said "paka" and she smiled and waived!! Oh my heart!! She is a cutie pie and needs a family!! "

Andrey is a tiny little monkey! HE REALLY NEEDS A FAMILY. He has blonde hair and blue eyes. He has also has strabismus, which can be corrected surgically here in the US. Andrey will greatly benefit from early intervention therapy, and will just blossom the way all of our other children have! This little one has an ASD and a PDA, with some impairment of circulation. He will need heart surgery when he gets home.
MORE PHOTOS AVAILABLE
From a missionary who visited with him in November 2010: " Andrey seems to have regressed since the last photo that was taken of him. He has very low muscle tone and, while he is able to sit up on his own, his not able to stand, even with help. He was playing with toys and I got lots of smiles and laughter out of him when I tickled him. He definitely has some significant delays but I believe he could truly blossom with the love and therapy a family would provide. Oh how I pray he gets the chance…"
From one of our adoptive families who visited with him in May 2009: " He is such a little cutie! I am not sure if he is sitting on his own because he was propped against this fence outside and I didn't get a chance to snuggle him. But he is good size, a bit small for a 2 year old, but with therapy and stimulation, it would only be a matter of time before he thrives!! "
From his caregivers in April 2010: child emotionally limited. Selectively comes into contact with adults. Has commitment to the toys: rattles, musical toys. Self-sitting. Not walking yet. Eat with spoon, drinking from a cup with an adult.

Girl, Born October 2006

Little Constance is already 4 and facing the institution. One of our own adoptive families was blessed to have met her during their own adoption visit, so we have multiple photos of her and hope we can find a family for her!

From her medical records: Down Syndrome, congenital heart disease, moderate mental deficiency. She does not have siblings. Constance seems to be social, observing and affectionate little girl.

From our adoptive family who visited with her in November 2010: " Constance was a sweet girl, she came up to me, sat next to me on the floor, and got closer and closer until she was in my lap. She sat in my lap so sweetly holding my hand for a long time. She is a small girl… before I knew her age I thought she was two years old. She played well in her groupa…. the caregivers(nannies) for this groupa are wonderful, they love the children, teach the children, and take good care of them. She is in a loving environment now but will be transferred soon. It breaks my heart, I wish I could go back and get her. She is too sweet for words."

Emory (10)

Emory (10)

Boy, Born February 25, 2008

Emory is new to this orphanage, and can be adopted with Lydiah or Evan. He was born with anal atresia, but has already had one corrective surgery. He currently has a tube in, and will require additional surgeries. He does NOT have a heart condition. Developmentally he is doing very well. He is happy and affectionate and in need of a loving family!

Emory is still young enough to benefit from early intervention therapy! Please give him a chance!
From one of our adoptive families who visited with him in May 2010: “ Emory had just returned from Kiev, where he had another corrective surgery. They built him a lower intestine and a rectum. He is very frail and in desperate need of a family. The director told me that he almost didn’t make it through surgery and that the Dr’s were surprised by his will to live. The director wants very much to find him a family and made a point to walk us down to where he was so we could get his pic. She also showed us his corrective surgery….which caught me off guard, but she was so pleased funds were available to help this little guy! His rebuilt rectum is at the site of where is colostomy bag was…on his lower left abdomen. He wore 2 diapers, one that went horizontal around the site and then a typical diaper. ”
We are so glad to have new photos of Emory, and I am personally touched by the way he clasps his hands, as if he is just praying for his family to come for him.

Chelsea 30-C

pafa-30C
Chelsea
Date of Birth: October 5, 2007
Gender: Female
Eyes: Blue
Hair: dark brown
Character: cheerful, kind This sweet little girl is almost 3 years old. She was born to a very young, single mom at 34 weeks gestation. She had some minor pulmonary issues in her first days of life as a result of her preemie birth, but she is very healthy now! She was born with an open oval window which may have closed on it's own.

Chelsea is affectionate, friendly, inquisitive child. She loves to hug and kiss. She smiles and laughs a lot. She is a pet in the group. She loves to play with dolls, puzzles. She is petite and gracious. She is active for a child with Down syndrome and can be strong-willed, get angry and weep if anything is not her way. But she can be easily distracted from a disappointing her thing. She cannot dress by herself and does not want to eat by herself. Her appetite is not very good. She is rather selective and does not like sweets. She is used to a potty, but cannot ask about it.

She started to sit up at 1.5 years of age, then started to crawl. She started to walk at 2 years of age. Now she runs fast, walks up and down the stairs, slides. She exhibits some muscle hypotony. She is delayed in her speech development. She speaks with syllables, but understands what is said to her and is obedient. To the question “where?’ she shows correctly her eyes, ears, arms.

Chelsea will be transferred in the coming year to a very remote part of the country, and will be *out of reach* for adoption. Hope someone will consider this beautiful child and give her hope for a future!

Date of Birth: June 4, 2006
Gender: Male
Eyes: Brown
Hair: dark brown
Temperament: good-natured
SIGNIFICANT RISK, PLEASE ADOPT ME SOON!

It is so painful to see these kids whose mothers drank during their pregnancy :( (( Artem’s mom was clearly not interested in giving him the best chance in life. This was her first pregnancy, he was born at 38 weeks, but she smoked and drank throughout the pregnancy. His mother kept him home until he was nearly a year old, so there is no telling what other damage she may have caused him during that time. Despite his difficult beginnings, he is described as a good natured boy, and will thrive in a loving family. He does have a minor myocardiopathy that should be followed once home, but he is active and doing much better now that he is in the orphanage.
